Practical Information Before and After the Course To ensure your child can learn in a relaxed environment and that each course runs smoothly, you will find here all important information regarding procedures, pool admission, and the conditions at the indoor and outdoor pools in Bruchköbel.
Pool Admission All course fees are exclusive of pool admission for children aged six and above. Parents also require their own ticket, regardless of whether they are swimming, observing, or simply accompanying their child. Unfortunately, brief entry “just for changing” is not permitted, as this is not allowed by the facility. Admission is handled via the ticket machine at the entrance. To ensure a smooth process, it is helpful to pay with the exact amount or small change where possible. The pool also offers 10-visit passes and discounted multi-entry cards, which are slightly more economical. Information about these options is available directly at the ticket machine or from the cashier. During the course time, you are of course welcome to use the pool facilities as usual.
Water Temperature & Equipment The water temperature in the indoor pool is approximately 26°C (79°F). This is a standard temperature for swim instruction and well suited for active children. However, some children may initially find the water slightly cool — especially if they feel uncertain or move less while learning. To increase comfort, a simple swim cap can already make a noticeable difference, as it reduces heat loss through the head. Children who tend to feel cold quickly may also benefit from wearing a neoprene suit or a neoprene shorty. Most importantly, your child should feel comfortable in the water. Physical comfort supports learning, builds confidence, and allows for a more positive and enjoyable experience during each lesson.
Arrival & Punctuality Please plan to arrive a few minutes early so your child has enough time to change, settle in, and transition calmly into the lesson. A relaxed and unhurried start makes a significant difference — especially for younger or more sensitive children. When children feel safe and composed from the beginning, they are able to focus more easily, build trust more quickly, and benefit fully from their time in the water.
Accompanying Persons & Attendance Parents are welcome to remain in the pool area throughout the entire lesson — and this is explicitly encouraged. Many children relax more quickly when they know a familiar and trusted person is nearby. Whether you choose to sit in the viewing area or remain at the side of the pool is entirely up to you. After the lesson, I personally hand your child over to you or to the agreed supervising adult directly at the poolside.
After the Lesson You are very welcome to remain at the pool after the lesson. Simply allow a little extra time for changing and getting ready. Many children like to share a few thoughts about their experience afterward, while others may need a quiet moment to settle before moving on. Giving them this small space often helps the lesson end in a calm and positive way.
Health Information If your child has any medical conditions or health considerations, please inform me briefly before the course begins. All information will, of course, be treated confidentially and helps me respond appropriately and responsibly during the lessons.
